Here are the most important classroom reminders for the coming weeks:
Homework- homework started this week. Just a friendly reminder that the homework packet should be returned in the BEE binder every Friday. Math HW will start this Monday and will come home everyday in your child's math pocket of the BEE binder. Math is due the day after it is sent home. For this reason, BEE binders must come to school everyday.
Math- Students were given a math assessment, and based on that assessment were placed in the appropriate level math class. You will receive an email from your child's math teacher by Monday, August 25.
Apple Party- The students are learning about Johnny Appleseed in history. We will celebrate the end of the unit with an apple party! If you can donate an item for the party, please sign up HERE.
Names- Please be sure to put your child's name on all of their sweaters/jackets, as well as on their other belongings. We already have a pile of unclaimed sweaters with no names. If you write your child's name on their belongings, the chance of them making it back home is much higher than if their name is not on it.
Aeries- Everyone should now have access to Aeries. We are beginning our weekly math and phonics assessments and as those are graded, student scores will be put into Aeries. Please check often to see how your child is doing in class.
Library- Your child will visit the library every Monday. Please be sure they have their library book in their backpack every Monday so they can check out a new one. Lost books can be replaced, or paid for online.
Volunteers- We are still in need of a few volunteers for centers, library, and our once a month art project (Meet the Masters). If you are cleared and would be willing to help, please us the following links to sign up:
Cleared- If you would like to get cleared to help either in the classroom, or on field trips, please see the office for a volunteer packet. The process can take anywhere between a few days to complete, to a few weeks. Our first field trip will be at the end of October, so keep that in mind if you are wanting to chaperone.
Assembly Attire- We have a Flag Assembly every Monday. Please make sure your child wears Assembly Attire on these days.
Early Dismissal- We have early release every Wednesday. Kindergarten dismissal is at 1:30.
Patriots Day- Every Friday is Patriots Day. Students may wear jeans and a spirit shirt that represents TPS.
No School- There is no school Monday, September 1.
